Sunrise
It was an early dawn of December, Gentle roosters began to crow in the huts, They greeted the first light of the day, Farmers untied the bullocks from the byre. They kept the wooden plows on the shoulders, And walked to the fields with the bullocks, Cowboys loosened the cattle from the cow barn, And they rushed towards the pasture lands. Non -bloused women emerged from the huts, They milked the cow's milk in the pots, Sweet voiced cuckoos made coo, coo sounds, And they tried to eat the ripped noni fruits. Black crows crowed caw-caw-caw, And they flew to the garbage heaps in crowd, Big fruit eating bats rushed to mahua trees, Water lilies buds blossomed into flowers. Honey bees swarmed to the blue lilies, Green frogs jumped into the water from leaves, Snowflakes began to vanish from green grasses, Great grey herons swallowed catfishes in the fields. The village streets were echoed by the vendor's shouts, Who sold the tasty palm wine and vegetables, The two eyes were not enough for us, To see the beauty of sunrise in the early dawn.
