Writing experimentation - Mid Yawn
(composed in head as woke up) Mid yawn, self suffocation Out of your control No fear, you know how it goes You're better at the end, than at the start Have faith in the recalibration part (Composed in phone notes - most are) Mid yawn, stretch til pain Involuntarily aspiration til clear When required they'll take over from here Though you weren't involved before Illusion of self, top drawer con, forevermore (Composed whilst walking) Mid yawn, standing out With something you can catch if you look We're all right here, on the hook Not recalling the forever of in-between Mouths open in unscream of silence we've seen (Composed on the laptop) Mid yawn, all I can do is pause As my mind reaches to grab a thought Then gives in, gives up, wholly caught Then released, settled, swims on like before Best not to dwell on when you glimpsed hell (Written in 3 minute window of time) Mid yawn, do I panic in this space Don't look at me, my lack of control is a disgrace To be revealed as needing air, shamefaced Later consider it is something we share Reflection on self to self, I'm quite unfair (Written when I considered writing a thought out stanza and retaliated against myself with a random one without thought instead) Mid yawn, feeling of pleasure I'll stretch out at my leisure Can fake it and make it mid way through Bring on what is involuntary, strange but true Power of suggestion, makes others yawn too (Written as I had a 2 minute wait outside school) Mid yawn, replicates the moment I was born First gasp for air delivered despite being scared Each one then seems easy as momentum kicks in We end where we end and begin as we must begin (Written lay in a hammock) Mid yawn, feel the breeze in my hair Unhurried for now, pushing back any cares A headache reminds me I've not paid my dues And a tumble of worries try to irk and confuse So I just close my eyes in the hope it'll diffuse (Still in hammock) Mid yawn, ponder the yawns I have caused I've yawned myself silly writing this of course Some of you will cite me as the reason for yours As long as not followed by multiple snores Don't advise me I'm boring, just please ignore (Composed watching swimming lesson) Mid yawn, unassociated with lack of sleep Unknown elements to me run deep My thinking is not akin to my peers It concerned me at times over the years As I embrace authencity, mostly that clears (Composed with intent to write something slightly decent but I've used up all my ideas) Mid yawn, filled lungs and stalled responses A paralysis consumes until air ensconces Seconds overtly stolen from day Publicly incapacitated, in takeover display Don't question, don't question, the herd will say (Composed in open collaboration with David Kavanagh) Mid yawn, distortions of time and self Consciousness shifts like a book on shelf I hover between this state and another Both under sheets and ‘neath the cover Mysteries within I have yet to discover Mid yawn, I face my human condition On my deathbed with an act of contrition Hollowed out eyes view abhorrent scenes Inverted symbols, bring fentanyl dreams Nothingness bleats directly into my brain Reaper nods off, I’m off the hook it seems
