Grief
Grief, more often than not, clings to the naked silence, the breathless onslaught of memories, hasty recalls, laboring in dewlike glimpses, through tears who glisten against a heart’s resistance, feelings bleeding through the memorials, the winds blessing away the whispers of a moment before the laughter was hushed by the cool, clear voice, the shadow’s song, stirring the spirit’s encore memories in waves of light, pouring through the distance, shafts of hope, insights, blessings, pure and undisguised, willing the heart to heal, yet, leaving tenderness so unreal, forsaking the darkness that soon reveals what it means to let go, let go of the twinkle in those eyes, let go of the gentle in a smile, let go of the kindness that only lasts a while… grief, unspoken anguish, an ache that tempts fate, sad that won’t go away, even when you take the consolation, found in unwavering faith, built on waves of heartbreak, the seeds of restoration, like a hand that has gone away, wither in the storms, melting like freshly fallen snow, after the sun swells and silences the glistening, the wonder, startling every fear from the spirit, sending colors of grief, gray and black and disbelief, to the grave of a hope, the seed that spoke of lasting peace, yet, still… grief, releasing all the stillness, in emotions breaking hearts, resting souls, arousing memories in tones of light, love reassuring us that, despite the grief, the loss, the ache that is tossing us in seas meant only for those who grieve, the hearts who agree, yesterday holds the music, the stars, the promises of a life gone silent, as the grieving remember … reflecting on what means more, the heart who has been, or the spirit who is still living, with Him, the One who gave us, assurance, hope, a promise despite the darkness, the black the grim words… death, grief, pain there is the word, that word comforts because, when spoken, it reminds those left behind, those whose memories delight souls, who know… forever, eternally, the soul is alive, more alive than it has ever been, more alive than we can comprehend, more alive, though unseen… living with the love that has always been, the love of Him who forgave all our sin! Grief – oh yes, grief runs so deep. but, His love, oh, His love… it colors our soul in such wonderful peace!
