Alone and Afraid
Set afloat, a drift with neither rudder or sail, Scared and alone with a body weak and frail. Storms on the horizon as I’m gently pulled along, As I set myself against winds that are fierce and strong. Against the water and the waves the darkness ascends, Fear now beating a song in my chest as I hang on in anticipation of the end. Many thoughts run through my mind as I hold on and await my fate, Not wanting to die but knowing my hour is late. In the midst of the storm a calm appeared, That relieved my thoughts and quenched what I had feared. It was then I started to understand, And I knew I was in the Masters hand. Over the horizon came my salvation, As a cruise ship had spotted me and was heading in my direction. As they pulled me aboard and I watched as the little raft went floating away, I realized I had faced the worst of my fears that day. We all have problems and tribulations in life we all must face, That is called reality and it keeps us in our place. The thing we must learn when we go through these times, Jesus is always there no matter the height of the mountains we must climb.
