Lilith
“The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there and find for Lilith a place of rest." Isaiah 34:14 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Isaiah is my name, though not of biblical fame. Saw her profile on my dating app and ‘swiped right.’ Had no clue what to do after that. Agreed to meet her at the coffee shop. Compared her picture to the app. It was her! I immediately fell into a trance. “Lileth?” I asked, my pheromones reacting. “Isaiah?” she replied, her voice coy and enticing. “You’re quite handsome!” she said with alluring proclamation I escorted her to a table; Lilith was a soft, pale lady with sumptuous curves, deep green, seductive eyes, and smoky voice. “Tell me a bit about yourself,” I stammered. “Whence came you?” I inquired,” gaining my composure. “I am Lilith. Like Adam, I am made from dust, but would not submit to his recumbent lust. I fled from Eden, becoming a monster of ancient lore. I refused to return to Adam’s bed, and, cursed by the Lord instead. All my children are destined to die. “I was exiled to a no-man’s land, claiming it as my own. Let Eve have Adam. Who would want him? I am a fiery spirit, I tell you! All I ever wanted was equality and freedom; for that now I am portrayed as a demon. Childless and unmated forever, I find peace among the other outcasts, birds, and beasts of the thorn garden where I reside. “No Man’s Land”—I posted the sign over the briar-ridden gate. Every dark thing there is coupled but me. Oh, how that angers me! But I am their ruler, impetuous queen of nowhere. Did you know,” she rambled on so, “those men wrote me out of their precious Book?” They translated my name as “screeched owl!” She threw back her long black hair and devilishly laughed. “How dare them!” she declared her green eyes on fire. If you want to know more, beware! I haunt the women of earth, and lie in wait as they give birth. It’s then that I gain revenge for my terrible plight. Unseen I hide within the birthing room, waiting for baby to leave the womb. I also possess very young girls, encourage their fiery carnal passions, torturing their families to death. As you can see, I am the Queen of Hell. With Lucifer’s help, I’ve been known to summon demons and resurrect the dead. I am Lilith, ruler of ‘No Man’s Land’.” She then learned forward sensuously whispering in my ear, “I am Lilith. You’re mine now!” I stood up and held her by her hair, rendering the alluring demoness helpless. I rushed outside, breathless, having barely escaped! Listen to me, men. Listen well! Should Lilith ever lure you into her online dating scheme, remember my story. Always, always ‘swipe left.’
