I Forgot That You Existed
In the shadows, I once dwelled, feeling wronged, so long, so long, Your shade cast, stole my light, till my radiance was gone, gone, gone. Caught in your grip, couldn't escape, lost in feelings deep, But then one night, magic arose, and I forgot you, in sweet relief. Your name, once etched upon my lips, now lost in the winds of time, Rent-free, you dwelled in my mind, a presence undefined. But then, a shift, a wondrous night, your memory ceased to persist, Indifference dawned, love and hate dismissed, a moment of pure bliss. Popcorn in hand, as my reputation took its fall, fall, fall, Laughed as I stumbled, watched me hit the ground, so small, so small. I would've stood, fought for you, in the face of the town's disdain, But then you showed your true colors, and I broke free from the chain. Lessons learned, messages sent, though now they blur, Forgotten, forgiven, indifference now the cure. Your apologies fall on deaf ears, for it's too late, too late, too late, I've moved on, cut you off, sealed our fate. No more tears, no more lies, your love I don't crave, You beg, you plead, but it's me you can't save. I see you trying, on bended knee, but I don't give a damn, For you're in the past, and I don't give a damn. (Poem version)
