Mirror Reflection
“You are a volume in the divine book—a mirror to the power that created the universe. Whatever you want, ask it of yourself. Whatever you’re looking for can only be found inside you.” Rumi ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As I step into my mother's eye, slowly my reflection do I see. I was the girl she had always longed for, the one she held, through thick and thin; the reason behind her smile and laughter, the daughter she knew would make her proud, the girl that beheld her future so. As I step into my country's eye, slowly my reflection do I see. I was the girl to bring a change, the one to drive out human insanity; the reason her song will echo, the citizen that rose her flag to the skies. the girl that beheld her future so. As I step into my Creator's eye, slowly my reflection do I see. I was the girl He entrusted with a task, the one to spread His message throughout; the reason His name will be glorified, the child that will do her part to bring Peace on earth. the girl that beheld the future so. So I step into my own eye, and slowly my reflection I realize; My life was never to be taken for granted, for I was the Love, the Hope and the Faith; (As I awoke from this dream, I inquired-) Am I to watch my reflection die? Or rather be what my future beholds!
