Tears In My Eyes
My eyes flood with tears Every time I hear your voice or see your face My heart fills with sadness When I think of all you were and what you did Have you seen my childhood? It is filled with memories of you Of pictures hanging on the walls Endless musings, lyrics burned in my mind Speechless, that’s how you made me feel Spinning and sliding in the way only you could do The saddest of it was being so misunderstood Living the lie bestowed, trapped in your world No one will ever know the mystery that was you You gave so much, much more taken in return In your own words sung with such sincerity “…Everyone's taking control of me Seems that the world's got a role for me…” In our hearts you will always live The little boy who wanted to heal the world So also will all that you were and could have been You never said goodbye but in that you are not alone Rest in peace M. J. you need look no more.
