Life is a Journey
Life is a Journey Step by slow step… The only way to get where I need to be. Put one foot forward, put another mile behind me. The path grows steep as I trudge uphill. Running on empty, I go on still. The deep valley I just walked through, Was lonely and treacherous, only to prove… That valleys lead up eventually, Bracketed by the mountains I'm walking between. My work just begun… the hardest part ahead… Nary a hand hold, I struggle and sweat. Clinging with strength I knew not I had… His strength is there when mine would flag. I ask and beg for help from the One, Whom on this great path has lead me to come. “Oh mercy dear Lord”, I pant and I pray, On steep mountain side i look up high and say, “You brought me through the valley below, You taught me to trust you,and your grace you did show… Now bringing me up, finally, out of that pit, I find myself stuck on a tall rocky cliff!” You answered from heaven, from blue sky stretching wide… “To get to the top, my child , you must climb up the side.” It took all my strength to get here through the hollow… I have nothing left, and you answered, “Just follow... When you are made weak through struggles and pain, That's when you seek me and my strength you attain… I'll climb every step of this mountain with you… And when you are weary… I'll carry you too.” We reached the summit with laughter and victory! Thank you God for helping me! “Rest here little one, he said with a kind grin, For soon we will go down into the valley again.”
