The Seasons
Spring airs her heart as she slowly thaws, To dance with words, her melodic tunes, Unleashed to bloom once crippled claws, To spin and weave a life within her blooms. A theatre of starlings dance a sky's ballet, A poet's heart content by flowing streams, As high above the soaring melodies play, Summer's reign coveted in earthly dreams. The Autumn wilts, drooped blooms unsung, While rivers float in leaves of golden strewn, As petals fall from grace each silent tongue, French lavender awaits a gentle hand to prune. No tears we dispense or lovingly look upon, Stripped bare all colour from Life's thrashings, Nature's cry unheard lost to looks of innocence, In despair I wait to be served a winter's lashing. The joy of Spring's loved, to a summer's breeze, Of Autumns lost innocence and winters freeze, I thank God I'm alive, as Nature and I breathe, And pray with my heart, my eyes to never leave.
