It Was Love
Isaiah 43:1 “But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” A clever thought spun dreams, aching, lasting, embracing, kissing away the need for sleep, in his arms, where fate has taken, time to make her a slow, gentle sigh, tempt her to life with his bright, vibrating in tones of insight. A clear, cool moment prepared her, for the gentle dance, so graceful, a waltz, through old flames, taking her away from the darkness, and the pain… the heavy drain on her, breathless, her sane, her senses, blurred like the mist on the river, where peace, clean as night, just shivers… a cluster of joy, abiding, surviving lonely, the grieving a heart who knows what it is to mourn, a soul who hears the tears from a love, gone away, forgotten by fate, falling out of love fades the feelings, into the melancholic holes, where a whole world is gray. Arising, in hues of hope, heartaches worn by the million days, the moments, despairing from a pain more fear than faith, feelings blended with a steely jade, patchwork damsels, despairing, disgraced, by the lessons they’re learning, their stardust moments falling away, like the keepsakes of a June day. A blessing, in the form of a kindness, forever love, so abundant – surviving, every test of time, every fear, every trial, even the darkest clouds, grow still, silent amid the mists, wistful like the kiss, soothing the heart, the spirit, with a beautiful raining in trembling, grace more alive than the prayers, prayed by haunted lips, like psalms, soft and sweet, fulfilling the burning inklings… Inklings of chains, meant to tie the heart, the light, - to the still winds, whispering slightly, listening to the faded breath God’s blessings pouring from heaven, in showers, kindest grace, beautiful as the angel’s face, laughing, healing, hesitating in the joy that comes from being sure, His love is alive and you are the result of the vision shaped and formed by the light falling across the spirit He gave, the spirit He made, the spirit He breathed… from His own breath, His own desire, poured out so we were made, wonderfully made, always His plan, His way, His friend… because without Him, we would even see, the wonder that He is, the joy of His grace, the miracle of the love that He poured out on us, when He glimpsed the pain that would be His when His Son lifted our shame, our guilt, our sin, with His own shed blood, His own gift to everyone that lives. in the moments before His death, there is no doubt – no reason to reject, what He has done – the love born by the One who did for us what no one could have done, the One who gave for us, love that is beyond words, love that is a perfect love, love that only God could have formed.
