Hit and run
I am in motion toward light beneath a door, Guilt drips from the walls, I am connected, I see you Sitting there, your pathetic self, as his sweat leaves his brow I know what you did, I do not hate, but I sense your every mistake He's in the shadows, clutching the glass; there is no savior, not for the likes of you, Take another gulp as his eyes look at the clock, tick-tock, tick "Maybe they're okay, I wasn't going too fast." I am the moonlight looking at YOU youngster, he's without care, speeding around the bends, Racing his Mercedes past, already forgotten, he feels free, in charge of the road, Letting his borrowed engine speak, tick-tock, tick, "It was just a scratch." I am a fly on the wall; there is a coldness in the atmosphere One is claiming his beloved is not as close as they were They can see it in their eyes, the fake smiles, drawn-out silence; she has become distant Tick-tock, tick, "The car is ruined, why isn't she doing anything about it?" March 15th, motorcyclist down from a hit and run, airlifted A stone's throw away from his home, broken leg, arm, and pelvis "It's not like him not to get in touch, have you heard anything..." Only today, he's in a lot of pain... should blessings be counted, really? How about the ones hiding in the shadows, occupying a killing machine to fill their status Or the distracted... whoever they are, they've destroyed a young man's life without an answer, I've walked off the beaten track since time began, but my being is not to harm others I would turn back and offer support in tow; whatever the outcome! When will this spectrum understand it isn't about who's in the right... Karma is a Bi%ch and you'll reap what you sow.
