What a beautiful gift from one creator to the next, mine had dark eyes and hair and the sweetest smelling breathe. Pink hands and toes tiny but chubby, oh my goodness did he really come out of my tummy?? The sound of his first breathe on this world was so incredible, no sound like it, i had ever known. Eyes still closed, his little body stretching his arms lift up, his legs fold out and his back slightly arches, then this tiny cry as he opens up his eyes. Not able to focus but he can hear whats around,his lips curve to a smile as he hears familiar sounds, and as he is placed on my chest i feel him sigh as if now he can rest, feeling my heart again on his body knowing thats where he feels best with his mummy. A sudden cry as the cord is cut , and suddenly everything changes we are now two. Our blood no longer flows together but our hearts will beat the same beat forever. I look at you and i cant put it into words the love I am feeling, more than i have ever loved and i just want to cry, i want to hold you forever, protect you, love you and help you survive. My job has just begun to be a mother, attentive and loving to my baby son. To show him rainbows on rainy days, and to kiss all his sad tears away, to fill his heart with love and happiness and to teach him how important being kind is. I gently kiss him on his nose and he looks at me with these great big eyes and nods his head so slightly, then with a smile his eyes gently close, its like he heard my thoughts and he approved on what i was thinking. So off to sleep as mother and son still in disbelief that the time has come and knowing that everything has changed, but always remembering we were once 1.
