The Background
I am alone, I am thinking about the past; it's gone, no chance of return. In need to move on, daydreaming what's possible, checking the mail, checking the text. How long it's been, dread to think... Reciprocate this wish, no? Didn't hold up, it happened, right? Not my imagination just yet. One can hope not, frantically searching through the memories of connection. Are there any? Hard to believe... I am letting it out like it's my last day, Teetering on the edge, to die happy, is this what is? I have to laugh why such a caring heart? Was I brought up differently? Reruns of "A Wonderful Life" blinded by the modern, No thanks, leave your messages to the adverts. Middle finger to that which stands for ... I no longer follow, poor souls who do. Robots, you've caused this mess... Who am I to judge? Let's just leave it there with a kiss I was part of it at one point, Confessing I've grown out of it, an excuse, just saw through it, I guess. Buy and sell, bad enough our souls on the conveyor belt, Loving every heartbeat, I'll meet you in the clouds, Sharing our stories, hoping the smiles outdo the frowns. God, I love you, whether I know you or not, Perhaps I just never found my place, the size didn't fit. Sadly no alternative but my eyes oversaw what you did, The color of autumn, too early maybe, that's when, we shall see. Could I take you to a quiet corner and ask to express without rebuke? Let my ears focus on your sound, tired of my own, It's just a quiet shout out to ascend to tomorrow, grab hold of me and take me out from where I have always been emerging from the background
