Write it Down
With this brand-new set of fancy pens, my kids gave to me on Christmas day. The note said now you have no excuse, not to write down what you have to say. It’s your duty now old man it said, to tell us of when you were a kid. Why you chose to walk along this path, why you made the choices that you did. You must share with us, all of your dreams, the ones that did, and did not, come true. To share with us your words of wisdom, that perhaps your parents gave to you. I say heed these few words my children, for you may come to regret the deed. Because I’ve been known to ramble on, and might give you more than what you need. Let me give you this advice my child, a few things they taught me in my youth. You better let a sleeping dogs lie, Politicians never tell the truth. Never place your trust in anyone, when it comes to politics or wealth. If it makes you happy or feels good, it’s probably no good for your health. Never gossip about your neighbor, don’t loan any money to a friend. You should never start to do a task, Without seeing it through to the end. Always look for a brighter future remember who you were in the past You must cherish each and every day Like it is going to be your last. No one knows how many days we have, or what God might have in store for us. Before he calls each of us back home to lend our voices to his chorus.
