He, her husband, is still slim (too slim ?) and plays golf several times a week, but his eye sockets are dark and tells of loneliness and a silent disappointment a sadness that comes about when a partner let the dominant person decides the outcome of a life spent together. Soon, they will be back on the island, where all are middle-aged and served by the local young.
