The dinner table
Last winter, I went to a buffet dinner, And all the faces there, were barely familiar. They laughed and giggled, They all came in pairs, I wondered why I was the only one alone, Then I remembered that no one really cares. They talked to each other, I wondered why I was the only one who couldn't talk, It felt like I was a wall for them, So I just watched. I sat there silently, Taking a look at the people across the table, The way they faked emotions for each other, Made me feel miserable. I was waiting for this play to end, Where they pretended to be nice in the game, No one really bothered about each other,, And faked the entire scene. "You're so funny. You're so sweet." wont take time to change it to "You're so ugly." "You're so cheap." I knew their intentions, And I tried to keep it with me. They were all stabbing each other in the back, Telling each other pretty lies, Talking about each other behind their backs, And I knew this dinner table was filled with all the devils in disguise.
