The Cobbler at the Crossroad
The Cobbler at the Crossroad After walking a few crossroads I found my shoes needed care I heard stories of a cobbler who has talent beyond compare. An old sign swung from his gate, but the meaning was hard to tell “You need to mend your soul my friend, or walk yourself to hell.” Wind chimes danced in the wind as I knocked twice upon his door I thought fate forgot to mention what destiny had in store. The cobbler said, “I’ll be right there, come in and have a seat.” “I measure the soul of the man before I touch his feet”. You heard the fables about the windows to the soul Face-to-face and eye eye, it was time to pay the toll All my walls tumbled down as he went deep to take a look Demons were at his mercy, my soul opened like a book. “THERE IS HOPE!” He shouted and put my shoes down by the fire With focus he went straight to work with passion and desire. “Here you go my curious friend.” He said when he was through As I put them on he said,“This new journey belongs to you”. He saw the question in my mind about the type of shoes he wore He said, “My feet are always bare.” And showed me to the door.
