Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office but because Jesus Christ lives forever, he has a permanent priest hood. Unlike the other priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. Hebrews 7:26-27 He sacrificed for sin once and for all when he sacrificed himself. Hebrews 7:28. Yes, we have Jesus Christ as our high priest, instead of weak sinful men for our high priests. And because He is our high priest--He is both our mediator between us and GOD, the Father, and our intercessor between us and GOD the Father. Thus, He is the one and only high priest that is uniquely qualified. Who is he who condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God, and is interceding for us. Who then will separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship, or persecu tion or famine, or nakedness or sword? Romans 8:34-35 No, in all of these things, we are more than conquerors, through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the presence nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in God's creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus.
