Death of the Pen Quilled In Action
Death of the Pen Colonel quill is On life support, Through trembled Voice he spoke , This feathered Friend has served Me well, as it did Most other folk . So it's time for me To shuffle off this Mortal Coil, before They invent the pen. Private Parker is on the rampage, He's completely Lost the plot, He's suffering from Blank page syndrome, what we call A writers block. Corporal Sheaffer Is leaking fluids, It's really touch And go the heart And mind Are willing, he just can't Seem to Find His flow. Sergeant cross Is always angry, The troops are scared as hell. The words are Flying left and Right, a long Night, I can tell. General Mount Blanc Has climbed the Highest mountains, He's in a different class, But as anyone Would tell you, He doesn't know His elbow from his Ass. Vice Admiral Fountain, Looks youthful for his age, But after several weeks, Not a single word was on the page , I said what are you thinking You are the inspiration to these men ? He said what are you talking to me for ? I'm not the eejit holding the pen . All these gallant Soldiers, have Served in times Of need , but now Their days are Numbered, as for Many, they simply Weren't up to speed . And quietly to oblivion Went those sacred few, The parkers and the bics, Simply bit of more than they Could chew . Our gratitude for your service, A long and trusted friend, But like everything in life, It had to come to an end. In memory of Private Parker Who sadly lost The ink to live Posthumously Awarded The Bic- toria Cross
