The rest of the story
Life isn't made up of one pivotal moment, something that defines us. We think it's a check list and we work through it hoping to pass, til we work out those things matter a lot less than feeling at home in our existence on earth. Qualifications, cars, houses, jobs haven't arrived me at that destination. I find it in understanding from other human beings and connection. The opposite comes from being misunderstood and damned without having the chance to tell your side. I have tried to be a goody two shoes but it still happens. So how did poor Goldilocks go on? Stories of her pervading lifetime after lifetime. All she did was go on her expectations of the world - "surely no one will mind". I'm willing to protest that it wasn't that big of a deal. She broke a chair, maybe... Was she even heavier than a bear? Stitched up. Back in those days you'd make more porridge than you needed, just refill baby bears bowl. This was a girl lost in the woods, desperately tired and hungry - why so judgey? I'm glad that little girl could retain her composure to save herself despite all the big bad wolves and families of bears that lived in the woods. She persevered when she needed to. I hope she got out of there, carried on having faith in herself and her ability survive regardless of the judgements bestowed on her from people and animals that have very small worlds. You did nothing wrong Goldilocks (breaking and entering, theft, criminal damage aside)
