BROTHERS YOUNG AND OLD
I have this framed photo of my brothers and me…it hangs upon my wall It captures a moment from long ago…when we were all quite small. Mark, the eldest is in the middle. I’m sitting on his left smiling in a one-piece outfit…it’s all white! There’s Dan, he’s the youngest, stretched out on a pillow to Mark’s right. I took this latest photo of my brothers and me…just the other day Mark now stands off to my left His wife Deb is smiling in back…with her teeth a pearly white. That’s Deborah and me in the middle and Dan off to our right. A lot has changed in 70 years… We’ve grown…we’ve lived in different places… But…after all this time it’s still great to see smiles on our faces. From the first photo to the last…we’ve changed a lot I fear… But I like to think the children from that first photo… In the latest…are still here. I know that’s true with me… Comparing these two photos…after almost 70 years I had more hair in the first photo but I have retained my smile… and there’s no mistaking my big ears. Since time does not stop for us…it’s nice to have cameras which can capture moments as they occur…. allowing the who we are today..to look back at who we were. I think one of the best things we can hope for through the years In all the photos we’re compiling… Is that: From our first photo to our last through all the years and all the changes In every photo…we’re still smiling.
