Down And Out in London
Down in London Washed away in the gutters spent, Like the vagrants and bums without a cent, Everyone in a hurry, somewhere to go, Someone to love them , most with a home. Eyes to the ground anything a find, My nose in the trash the past in my mind. Kings Cross station my home for now, Tomorrow who know I could be found, In the Thames floating , drowned . Time is endless in a city that sleeps, The cold of the night brings me to my feet, And as I walk where once my mother cried, I felt like the little boy again, who wanted. to hide, Away from the truth and the coldness of life. No future to mention , nothing but strife, Searching through the same pockets, hoping to find, A little change for food , and some peace of mind. Somewhere to stay, to feel wanted and warm. Regretting my Birthday , the day I was born. Nowhere to lie for three days now, No one to blame , just take my bow. The cold runs through me , I think of us two. It weighs heavy in my thoughts , Like the coat on my back .
