A Clarity of Mist
A Clarity of Mist Silence pervades the harshness of reality To unveil a life, decorated by walls And screams of memories, most not her own, But seized and claimed by others. Clashing colours feeding off another’s life; Black daffodils, cracked mirrors, Clothes no longer worn; her refection a kaleidoscope Of yesterday’s emptiness, brimmed With love and solitude. And this guarded prison cell it’s contents mourn, And pray a more voluptuous dawn, For in that fruitfulness of youth, naked stretched, Lips rubious full, a blank canvas For this mistress kept, dreams consummated, Jousting past demons, seeking truth In shadows that taunt and struggle to resist But cling like ivy about a Clarity of Mist, Overcome and strangle, Such strange love is this. What charity refuses to take, all that I possess, As did my love when you walked away, And left me, a reflection flawed, No illnesses have I, not one that has a cure, For a broken heart, a love deplored. Reserved in death not as in life, A new beginning, where the heart does not mourn, But embraces eternity. A Clarity of Mist, Love, in death reborn.
