Where Do You Go
A silent end, a fading friend, an ever-mounting fear. A tear-stained eye, a question why, another pointless year. A solemn stare, the mirror’s glare with nothing left inside. A slow walk home, still there alone, and everything’s been tried. Where do you go when all is lost? Is there strength to start again? What do you have when all is gone, is there a way to win? Where can you turn when no one’s there, no one you can trust? Why should you try against the odds when dreams have tuned to dust? A fading day, a night to stay, another morn will come. A tiny pill, the doctor’s will, an ever-growing sum. A smothered fire, a lost desire. No one will ever see. A different soul, the vision stole. All that might could be. Where do you go when all is lost? All that I have to lend. Where do you go when all is lost? You go on… til the bitter end.
