When Wisdom Speaks
Ear buds in, texting fingers Shuffling feet, eyes locked on the glow Wisdom is screaming, the sound lingers Seeking my attention, but I do not know I knew not the truth was flowing Its voice whispering in the night Needing only silence for its knowing Longing to share its insight A twisted path, which way should I go I’ll follow the way the wind doth blow I’ve no understanding of what I know Yet still I stretch, reach and grow In the quiet, wisdom beckons me Though I have no time for silent thought I squint my eyes, but barely can see The light the morning has brought Drowning in sounds blaring in my ears Wisdom and truth patiently seek I take out the ear buds so I can hear As I quietly listen, they begin to speak “Turn from the noise if you would be wise Listen to your inter voice The world seduces with its lies But you always have a choice Share with others, what you’ve found to be true Allow them their right to disagree Each person you meet has a different view They may not see what you think they can see.”
