Geese in flight
We are but geese in flight, who are heading north to raise their young. Who brave the journey year after year, only to leave again together, chasing the sun. Why the geese make such a journey, only to leave is a curious thing. They won’t stay long to face the colours of autumn, but will return to brace unpredictable spring. On their way they encounter frozen lands, human greed. Death. They encounter Devastation. Great sorrow accompanies this great migration. The path is foggy, misleading. To make it through is not a guarantee. Making it to the desired destination is not a universal destiny. So why keep flying? Because you can. Because to stay in place forever, is not what is planned. They are hurt if they go, and they’re hurt if they stay. You get hurt either way. So why go on? Why? Because they would rather try and die. Then die not ever having tried. They respect that cycle of continuity They respect their mortality. They are called. The strong, the fortunate, those who flew when right, Are no different than those who are small and out of sight. Our journeys differ, some small and some long, yet they are all alike. For everyone’s day eventually ends with night. They endure. We are but geese in flight, assessing life, the journey in full. Who despite knowing the hurt caused the hurt to come, we carry on, following our migratory pull. -find your compass
