Silent Prayers
In the wind, I hear her laugh, A nervous giggle – so sweet and wild. On the night, skies soft and bright, Quivering with stars, lit by a spark from God. In the leaves, I hear her and remember… Just yesterday, she was alive and so gentle, Filled with her dreams – promises and belief, Never questioning the peace that comes to those… Who simply see past the sun’s joyous kiss, The sun who sets with a bliss… Secreted beneath the sapphire twinkle, starlight, Reflecting the music of a soul, a life cut short… By the passing of a thought, the fugitive is love, Love spoken into the night by a never setting sun, Sun so true and bright, sun coughing up the words… Grief that will never quit. This is the ceaseless grief, falling through the seas, Broken by those who see past the settling of a teardrop, Against the melancholic backdrop of yesterday, Where there were those who could never believe… There in the setting sun was an everlasting memory, In tones of grace and love, shining so the world can see… Forever, in the wind… I hear her laugh and remember when – She was not just the overcast, the shadow, Fading gracefully beneath a never setting sun A sun intent on growing grief.
