The art was most masterful on the dark canvas
If the deepest shade of blue is midnight Whilst the cheapest brands fade a hue I'll let you tell me everything is still alright And I'll sing of love that's ocean deep to you As you catalogue my past mistakes my dear And tell me clearly when last I was wrong Navigate, interrogate through all that I fear I think maybe fate is that I sing a different song Please channel, bring forth an uprising in me For I no longer sing all conflict should sleep Tell me what are echoes to the waves when free The ocean barely knows of walls that keep The art was most masterful on the dark canvas My part subservient til my pallette changed When I open my eyes to be no longer in Kansas Let's not disguise what this distance estranged At midnight the deepest thoughts appear A fight that drowns even the best that sail Despite it all what joins the ocean is a tear My song was a call that love would never fail
