Sarah Can’t Smile
Daddy searched for the good life, but it could not be found. Momma got tired of it all and went running around. Sarah climbed up to the sky with no way to get down. That’s when she learned how to scream without making a sound. Now poor Sarah will never see her momma again. And her daddy’s on the couch, still three sheets to the wind. that gun’s cold steel barrel, it felt like her only friend. It’s the only thing that gave her comfort in the end. Chorus: Each day is just another game, of playing Russian roulette. Spin the chamber, pull the trigger, be happy with what you get. If you’re not lucky, you’ll get a chance, to blow your mind again. You must drop the hammer, because until you lose, you can’t win. When searching for answers, you find nothing but the wind. Blowing all hope of a future, down around the bend. Each time you tried to stand up, you just got knocked back down. ‘Til you could no longer pull yourself up off the ground. Which path would you take, if you were cast out on your own. When all your hope is lost, and your heart has turned to stone. Would you ask for some help, from the one who rules above. I wonder if you’d choose death, or would you choose love. Repeat Chorus: Will it even make a difference, which path you choose. The world will still keep on turning, if you win or lose. So that cold steel barrel just might be your only friend. Because even when you lose, your still going to win. Each day is just another game of playing Russian roulette. Spin the chamber, pull the trigger, be happy with what you get. And if you’re lucky you’ll get a chance to blow your mind again. You must drop the hammer, because until you lose, you can’t win.
