Ocean Journey
I have lived a good life but now I am withered old and it is time for me to gasp my last breath there are no loved ones standing over my bed no one holding my hand I am all alone and my tears fall I expect darkness to wrap around me like a blanket but, instead I am in a sail boat on a vast unknown ocean the aqua waves kiss the boat and the wind whispers my boat is racing with the tide as the waves push there is a liquid murmur in this vast blue emptiness the water is sparkling and luminous in the blazing sun cobalt blue, deep, a place of whales and sharks I am on a watery journey but to what destination this ocean has no fences, nothing holding me my sails are flapping and I set my compass true north it is not cold blue gloom but I sail forward with peace the sea birds call to me from the crystal blue sky this ocean has no shores, no beginning and no end no clouds clutter the sky as the birds fly in a cosmic dance suddenly, the ocean is saturated with colors seared with light I gasp in the salty air and a cool mist licks my face I am veiled in a haze and all is quiet as my boat is still in the ocean my long hair blowing ... oh, I am no longer a withered old lady but young and beautiful, and God has painted lovely brushstrokes of ocean colors and now reaches out a hand that I clasp . . .
