Caution Never Won Wars
How do you silence your head when everything is too loud? The world is quiet for now but there’s all these radio stations going off in my mind, trying to sell me life advice And you can never turn them down You can only switch to a new station And I’ve never really liked what’s on the radio these days How do you keep the demons at bay when they’re rising from the ashes? It’s not my fault Of all my angels called in sick today Don’t get me wrong, somedays I feel like I could emerge triumphant from the ocean the biggest wave you’ve ever seen will crash over me as my demons drown behind me as I stand triumphantly But what does it mean to rise? To emerge from a sea of lies unscathed? When I look around, it’s very clear who’s a hero and who’s not But who am I to put my heroes in check? Well no one’s my hero 'cause to stand triumphantly is to stand alone But who am I to write this criteria when I haven’t risen from anything but my bed? Looking around, it’s very clear for me to rise, I need to define this on my own
