I Asked Her to Slow Dance
I didn’t really know what I should do. Dad said, “you need to pull her close to you.” When I tried to do like he told me to, I made a mistake and stepped on her shoe. She was so nice; she just gave me a wink. I said to her, “could I get you a drink?” She took a moment, then said, “sure I think?” I said, “I’ll be right back, before you blink.” We finished our drinks, she said, “let’s just talk.” I bettered her offer with, “while we walk?” The chaperon was watching like a hawk. I said, “let’s go right now”, she didn’t balk. We walked until it began to get dark, Then we sat down on a bench in the park. Later we left when we heard a dog bark. We didn’t dance but we both left our mark.
