New Year Resolutions
“Let the new year fill fun in dismal times by laughing at self-stupidity” – Quote by Poet The spent year sinks in captivating cauldron of history, trace a fading furrow of the setting sun, etched in the realm of remote remembrance weary, as new months will come blooming promise buds one by one. Janus opens for me the door to the new beginning, after my time crosses the corridor of worn out year, I’ll weave unseen dreams in tapestry of future ensuing, unsung songs I’ll sing in sequence of seasons as they appear. Along the destined path I’ll begin the new journey with the cornucopia of funny resolutions galore, reach amused the edge of the time plateau I don’t see, yearning to greet a new joyous sunrise in my sky of January’24. I’ll be making the old mistakes many more times, but resolve to commit them in a different way so I won’t repeat. I’ll swathe life with some fun, making jokes of me in rhyme, and laughing my heart out at my senseless stupid feat. I’ll express profuse gratitude to those close to me, even if they don’t take me as I am with my foolishness inbred. For my meek muse with indelible ink I’ll refill my pen free, keep on writing inane poems that nobody will read. .
