Be Loved
Come here little one Let me tuck you in Under a starry blanket With a kiss upon your chin. Today is sorrow now past Let hope tomorrow shine The indigo of night is soft Remember you are mine. Come here little one It is now time to sleep Let sigh your weary head Fall into me, a heap Of emotion, and numbness Yeah, and sorrowful heart. Rest in my arms, child For tomorrow's fresh start. Come here little one Your heart is much too big Today you shuffle and mourn in silence Tomorrow you may dance a jig. Cry your tears, grieve your loss, Shudder with all that you are. Do not forget, but you must let go Love will never be far. Come here little one I see your anger, and I see your hurt The blackest ichor has sapped your strength And it's stolen all your mirth. Not to be, for a little while, And escape this nightmare to dream, The night and her stars cannot last forever Let your eyes trickle a stream. Come here little one Here within my arms You are in my heart Here within my charms. Lay down, little one Please, I need you, too, Though I can no longer caress I still love you.
