A Blooming Beauty with Black Hair
Written 29 November 2023 Love Jones Poetry Contest Sponsored by Karen Jones A Blooming Beauty with Black Hair With blond round cheeks like the full moon And her hair swaying in the air She strode the city street at noon That blooming beauty with black hair. With her smiles shining like the sun And a grace quite distinct and rare She scanned the distant horizon That blooming beauty with dark hair. With her lips pink as a sweet rose And her grey eyes of dazzling flare She eyed at me as in a doze That blooming beauty with black hair. With a tinge of deep fear quite right I dared at that beauty to stare; It was sincere love at first sight With that blooming beauty`s black hair. What I loved best was her pure soul, A heart shining with loving care A human being as a whole That blooming beauty with black hair; She soon agreed to be my spouse, To follow my steps where I fare And did love and kindness arouse That blooming beauty with black hair. She is now for ever my mate Imbued with divine love and care Pulled together by hands of fate That blooming beauty with black hair.
