It wouldn’t be long before I’d see, There in that mirror, looking back at me… Knowing eyes, a captivating smile, Risking the eventual brilliance of a heart, Who knows what it means to see… Light, love, laughter in the moments When a heart touches hope, when a light Touches a soul… Not so many years have passed, In the mirror, my image would possess… Twinkling eyes, like a tender caress, Feelings echoed in the promise… Reflected in the silence, a sincerity, A moment of insight despite all the darkness A moment of kindness despite all the fear A moment of love despite all the dread.
