Reflections
In the mirror's glare, I often see, A face and body that can't define me. I'm just a girl, lost in the fray, With struggles that won't seem to go away. My guilt's a weight, it won't release, I hide in shadows, seeking some peace. I battle the mirror, the scale, my plate, In the quest to be thin, to change my fate. The world's a blur through my weary eyes, I wear a mask, a clever disguise. Inside, I'm broken, my spirit's scarred, Trapped in a cycle that's endlessly hard. Yet hope feels distant, a far-off star, I wonder who am I, and who you are. In hidden corners, my tears do flow, A silent scream, a desperate echo. But there's a depth in the pain I bear, A hidden strength, a story to share. I'm more than the surface, the hurt I wear, A survivor of battles, a soul laid bare. In this journey that seems so long, I'll keep on fighting, though the pain is strong. But the mirror's still harsh, the struggle is real, And there's no happy ending to how I feel.
