Killer Trees
A tree branch could crash through and kill me. That’s what’s dangerous about windows. So I had better run outside to be safe. I had been inside for awhile, so… I forgot about earth. I forgot about grass that covers the earth. Grass is like carpet. It’s comfortable. Lying on grass is comfortable. But embarrassing. There are trees that make shade that feels cool and relaxing. But this is dangerous too. There is no storm out here. Yet. But if there was, the trees would fall and kill me. The trees would gather in a circle, to kill me. Into my car? Crash, crash, that’s where my mind goes. The basement! The basement! That’s why I’m in the basement, mom. That’s why I’m hiding. Behind all the cobwebs. Go to bed. Go to sleep. Die in my sleep? That’s what could happen by the window. But I’ll deal with that in the morning.
