Sinking Ships In Lost Metaphors
Redefining what you think is courtesy This sinking ship we've found Remains the perfect metaphor In all the worst ways You're already in my head You're the antithesis of life advice I give myself But I could be sinking deeper I could be hurting more with your knife in my back And my back against the wall (We both know I think of you Ten times more than you think of me) But how could I confess When this ship is sinking anyways? This sinking ship we've found Reminds me of us In the best possible way Making the best out of a dire situation But I could be sinking faster And I could be hurting more With your knife in my throat And your voice in my head It holds more power than my own at this point But I could be sinking deeper And I could be lost within the thoughts of you in my mind But of course I'm not, That's why I'm writing a poem about you Reel me back, I'm dreaming too big again Maybe I like to pretend that you're imagining this too Making the best of a dire situation, I'm always too lost for my own good In fact, I'm drowning in deeper waters Then this sinking ship we've found (We both know I think of you Infinitely more than you'll ever think of me) But that's okay Cause for what it's worth I always could be sinking faster How could I confess When this ship is sinking anyways? How could confess When this ship is sinking anyways?
