It Was the Way That She Died
Hog tied in the back seat you drove me to your home blindfolded and beat you put me on the couch you free me but not for long you chain me to the bed in the basement whip me on the back I scream out knowing no one can hear me Peeing in a bucket with no way out locked in a room for months with eggs for dinner and lunch As I cry, there's more torture to come shocking me with a wire you've made me your wife and now we have a son An internet prince I thought we were in love Catfished, drugged, and hung Cold and alone Until your boots creep down the stairs Eyes swollen shut blood drips from my teeth you read to me the newspaper talked of my family The search party stopped looking I was no longer missing they held a funeral I'm sure they were crying You laugh because I'm officially yours now even though I was four miles from my house I'll never see my family again not my fish or my dog or my bed again you laugh because you know the hardcore truth you dug that hole in the backyard for me you put plastic on top of a sheet everyone will remember me for my smile for my grand entrance into college for my good deeds, they will talk of me As if i died in my sleep Peaceful and holy little do they know Its not the way that I lived It's the way that I died.
