Our Love Affair With Specials
No wonder so many are feeling low, When buying by the kilo, Seems the only thing to do, When prices are only going to grow, Or when 2 for $5.99 gives off a false glow, That makes one forget what few now know, That dealing the budget a fatal blow, Will not keep blood pressure low, Especially when the quality of the product on show, Is not something we care to know., And buying by the kilo, Adds weight where we do not want it to show, Unless the amount we throw, Continues to grow. So, how can we get out of jail here When specials are everywhere? Maybe it is as simple as doing the math's before we go anywhere, And taking out cash before we go there, So temptation is not on the cards when we get to the store, And in the long term to get back to prices that compare, With quality that is sure, We can make sure our children do their math's homework more.
