In All Its Splendor
I step outside; the autumn breeze tousles my hair. The newly chilled air moves the clouds, streaks of brilliance breaking through from a patient sun. I watch my breath mingle with the crisp, cold autumn air. I pause, letting my eyes rest for a moment. I listen to the sounds and take in autumn’s aroma, allowing my brain to be still. I realize that autumn days are waning toward the inevitable colder weather ahead. Each nightfall comes sooner than the one before. I approach the wooded trails near my home. The autumn season stretches forth in front of me awash with multi-colored hues, from the serenity of browns to fireside reds and the gold of the few sunny days that remain. My mind wanders, and I find myself thinking of spring and the flowers to come, the brilliant fresh petals of pink and yellow. Then I remember with a laugh, “This is autumn, and she has her own special ways of bringing beauty. She gives by enlivening the senses, by making what could be dreary into the most bewitching of natural art. She gives by bringing a fresh start, feeding the soil, and kissing the trees into their patient slumber.” the autumn season brings her own artistic hand evolving beauty autumn in all its splendor shows us how graceful letting go can be
