Stumbling In Mordant Shadows
How quickly I became intoxicated from the salt I'd tasted around the rim of the crystal chalice he filled for me with ambrosia kisses as shadows fell. A spell was cast on this dark bewitching night, beneath the torches of burning stars. I drank deeply until overcome with desire, shivered when I felt an icy hand invade my soul. Fear was a river of trepidation flowing inside of me. Night grew cold and much too dark as one by one, stars were disappearing. No longer did they glimmer like flames of fire. Through a black hole of stellar mass, I fell and stumbled in mordant shadows. Fearful beyond any fathom I'd ever known when I heard the laughter of plangent scorn. This salt I tasted was from tears trickling as a peccant love song tickled my ears. A sinister melody sung by a shadow, that stole my heart and flew off on raven's wings. In an onyx crypt I would swear I slept, swept as a castaway into a raging sea. I gasped for breath, trying to remove a black veil that the specter had thrown over me. Who is this baleful haunter that shadows my life? Cursed am I. If I'm to die by the hand of another, I'd rather drown in the crashing waves of a roaring ocean then haunted by an enemy who won't show himself to me.
