When My Soul Grows Wings
I do not know when my time on earth Will end, when I will go – I’m not sure if I’m destined for tomorrow Or if today will have the final say I do not know when my heart will leave This place, for that home above – I don’t know when I’ll be on the final road, Ending my journey here, going on… To higher ground, where I’ll be found – More alive than I’ve ever been, more alive Than the singing flames of grace, More alive than the stars who glisten bright, More alive than the shadows falling over the night, More alive than the dancing of hearts who delight In knowing that Jesus is there the moment We finally say goodbye to this life and hello – To eternal life, where we’ll know the wonder of a love Far more alive than we could have ever hoped to find! I do not know when I’ll let go of the moments, One by one – focusing only on the wonder of Him, The Savior of the world, the One who I’ve yet to see – Yet have always felt within, believed… When He is there beside me, I’ll see no need For the fears, the tears, the years long past, Now only memories of what did not last, As Jesus, with His gentle kiss… Echoing beautiful across the silence of a breathe, Restoring music to its melodious colors, Whimsical rhythms of sapphire and rose, Fanciful graces in lavender and scarlet, Whispers of laughter in gold and flowing lights, Promising the darkness that, with joy, There are notes of worship poured out over the perfect, Where He lives – the Risen peace, the Rescuer, The Protector, Deliverer, Redeemer, Liberator – The ONLY ONE who can restore the soul with a love Far more wonderful than any love its ever known on earth, A love that stirs spirits to renewal as they meet the One Who reaches beyond the prayers and praise, Into the soul who is sincere and appreciates, believes He is everything! With Him, there will be no need for anything Except the precious faith that remembers His amazing GRACE! When my soul grows wings, I have no doubt there will be Joy that is mind-boggling, so alive that it restores the heart With a healing that will never grow old, a feeling that will always show Beyond this world, in heaven, there is pleasure that knows no doubting, A beautiful that is unending peace, forever with me – His light Reassuring and preparing me to meet eternity with a glimpse of everlasting Grace, His saving grace and His gift to those who believe He is the answer to every need – He is the reason that I’m saved From the darkness of a hell that I’ll never need to see, since He chose me! With HIM, I am forever free – with Him, I’m forever grateful to be – Someone who can experience His love, His peace, His everlasting Gift to those who believe – He is who He says He is… He is Jesus, The King of Kings and the Prince of Peace, from everlasting to everlasting, He’ll always be… It’s Him who I believe!
