Thoughts That Drift On the Wind Until They Reach St Peter and He Has Some Hard Hitting Questions
It's too hot But the birds are tweeting I'm listening intently Tick tick woooo ooh eep eep uh I need to read into intonation I've decided two birds speaking a different language are chatting They aren't getting anywhere So keep getting louder I bet if I could see them they'd be gesticulating wildly Drifting... Do spiders get sunburn? Well, I wish I hadn't googled that (They die quickly before any chance of sunburn) Who knew those spiders watching sunsets were doing so at great personal risk... no wonder they are furious when I turn up and ruin their ambience I'm just taking a moment for all the dried out insects... I might make a special effort to move them from path to grass if I spot them I don't want to ruin their sense of achievement Or take them too far from home Imagine that's what I'm faced with at the pearly gates... "Did you knowingly place snails and worms too far from their homes?" Me pleading "it wasn't like that! I was saving them!" "Explain why you throw spiders out of upstairs windows?" Me: less sure of plausibility "...saving them" "Were you trying to save the moth when you whipped it with a towel?" Me:"..." try again... "they refuse to be saved" Well, it's not looking good for me... It's a shame how I've gone from birds tweeting to eternity in hell - I probably should stop doing that kind of thing
