Camping Capers
When my family went camping on the farm, we were blown away by its rural charm. Beautiful views of rolling hills and pastures green, It was a sight that just had to be seen. We pitched our tents down by the small creek, the kids went splashing, having fun all through the week. There was also the campfire, for when it got dark, Some magic powder to change the colours of its spark. Bacon butties for breakfast to accompany a brew, Then it was a weather check and deciding what to do. Some days were for playing, a game of footy -a kick about, Then it was Rounders where my niece caught her dad out. the brothers helped all to look after Paddy the dog, My Nephew finding sticks to whittle, and then the youngest found a frog. the girls enjoyed picking berries or a game of Uno, As for the grown-ups, we relaxed as we let the beers flow. Highlights of the trip were Billy Bob’s and a ride on the steam train, Despite the storm, everyone carried on through the pouring rain. Visits from other family members, and nearby were Nana and Grandad, A great time with loved ones, cherished memories well and truly had. Pizza, ice-creams, croissants, burgers, hot dogs, and a gazebo full of snacks, And not forgetting the smell of smoke as the train went down the tracks. Cows, sheep, dogs, frogs, phone-boxes, and the big red tractor, For uncle ‘digger’, this holiday had the X-factor.
