Would You Love Me If I Was Not a Poet
Would you love me if I wasn’t a poet? Who haven’t touched your heart with my words at their depths? Who haven’t recited my love poems for you with all my heart And knelt with a rose promising that I’ll never depart? Would you love me if I wasn’t a poet? Who’d never penned your favorite love songs from my sonnets? Who, at times of your loneliness I’d not shown the brightest rainbow No inspiring words of hopes and prayers for your brighter tomorrow? Would you love me if I wasn’t a poet? Who never had the chance to shout in the whole world, you’re the best? Or spread that God’s most precious gift is you—my lyrical poems attest And remind if I’ll fail of loving you at my best, you can always detest? Would you love me if I wasn’t a poet? Please say your sweetest yes for my eagerness could no longer wait, Please tell me you would love me whoever I am and whoever I was, For I’m the most handsome guy in the universe, your first love and crush.
