Sensory Overload
What if woke up one day- and you could not see or hear? Would you find twisted relief?- Or would your mind resort to fear? If I could hear no sound- I wouldn't hear you when you yell. (But) I'd hear no genuinity-- when your heart begins to spill. I'd hear no more excuses- to justify the hurt you've caused me. But I also wouldn't hear- about the future that you've promised me. If I could no longer touch- I couldn't feel a blades Sharp edge. I wouldn't feel your Kisses though- when we tangle up in bed. Nor would I feel my tears fall- when my heart, again, should shatter. But I wouldn't feel your heartbeat- against my cheek when things got better. I'm not sure what I'd do- if my eyes did lose their sight. But I know I wouldn't see- your perfect smile light up the night. I wouldn't see your sad or hurt- I wouldn't see your Face at all. I couldnt dive into your eyes- or the tears I cause to fall. If I could not taste- our every kiss would feel so hollow. I wouldn't taste the venom spoken- nor the pills I have to swallow. I do not know which sense I'd choose- if made to pick just one. I'm overwhelmed with all of them- but without them, I'd be numb. So tell me, which would you choose?- What would make your choice be final? Which would cause you lesser pain?- But also, make that sense worth while? -Sensory Overload-
