The World Under My Room
The World Under my Room In my room I sat bored one faithful day, My brothers and sisters didn't want to play. With a rusty old shovel, I concocted a plan. So to its location I excitedly ran. I picked it up and dug and dug, My bottle of water went glug glug glug! Eventually I hit some wood. And broke it to see what was under the hood. I fell through the roof onto a hostile floor. Then a figure said, 'Okay are your?' His language, truly, was hard to master. But I was learning it faster and faster. Then he took one good look at my trusty shovel, And all of a sudden, started to grovel. I was confused as he called his kin. I saw creatures both fat and thin. Then an old looking one came with a strange book. Then he gave me a commanding look. I read through the lines and found a cause to sing. For whosoever had the shovel was destined to be king. They gave me a crown, and a place to stay. Then presented me with a ruby tray. On it was a scepter, riddled with gems. I'm sure jewels there grow on stems. But I couldn't accept, I had a life above. I wanted to fly away like a liberated dove. I tried to scramble up from where I came. But I had accumulated to much fame. The wise one said if I was to go, They had gifts and sights to give and to show. I was whisked away to a great land, But straying off the path was promptly banned. To a smith I was taken to. He repaired lamps, shovels and even shoes. He took the shovel and fixed it good. The reason I never really understood. The old shovel was old no more. And I climbed right through dirt galore. I found myself back in my room, Surrounded by new shovel fumes. What a day, full of joy and gloom, In the world I found under my room.
